VU FEBA welcomed International Day for Women and Girls in Science with encouraging statistics
Did you know that 11 February is the International Day for Women and Girls in Science? On this day in 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution to ensure equal participation of women in science and to increase women's involvement in scientific activities.
According to Eurostat, there were almost 6.6 million female scientists and engineers working in the EU in 2020 - 254,500 more than in 2019. We can only be proud that Lithuania continues to lead the EU in the number of women working in science and technology with 63.7%. Latvia is in second place (62.9%), followed by North-Eastern Bulgaria (60.4%), the Azores (59.6%) and Estonia (59.5%)).
