DOCUMENTS GOVERNING COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
The compulsory professional internship is included in all VU FEBA undergraduate study programmes. The main goal of the compulsory professional internship is to consolidate and apply in practice the knowledge acquired during studies. The volume of the compulsory professional internship is at least 15 credits. The compulsory professional internship is carried out at the time specified in the bachelor's study programme plan and equals to 390 academic hours (12 weeks). The compulsory professional internship can be carried out in Lithuania or in a foreign country.

* Students who are on Erasmus exchange in the spring semester 2024 or due to other important reasons are allowed to sign the compulsory internship agreement in the first week of the autumn semester.

FINDING A PLACE FOR COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
Students may consult the assigned FEBA internship supervisor, who is the same as the course paper and Bachelor thesis supervisor, regarding the suitability of the internship organization and / or placement. Please refer to the Recommendations for selecting compulsory professional internship host organisations.

SIGNING AND REGISTERING COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP AGREEMENT
Compulsory professional internship agreement signing for the Spring semester 2024/2025 will be done in the document management system Avilys.
- A student has to send their compulsory professional internship agreement which has been discussed with both the internship supervisor and the internship organization to their study programme coordinator.
- The coordinator will then upload the agreement in the document management system Avilys and will forward it to all parties to sign.

COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP AT ONE’S WORKPLACE
Students who would like to conduct their compulsory professional internship at an organization with which they have an employment contract, do not need to sign a separate agreement for compulsory professional internship, however, they shall present an official letter from the company to their study programme coordinator. The following information has to be included in the letter:
- The exact dates of compulsory professional internship;
- Name, last name, position, phone number, e-mail address of the internship organization’s assigned internship supervisor;
- The confirmation of the host organization, that it will provide the student with the necessary conditions for carrying out the internship tasks;
- The official confirmation letter should be addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration by the authorities of the internship organization. The official confirmation letter has to include the official details of the organization and has to be signed and stamped by the authorities of the host organization.
PREPARING AND DEFENDING THE REPORT OF THE COMPULSORY PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP
At the end of the compulsory professional internship, the student prepares and defends an internship report. The internship report is defended with the VU FEBA internship supervisor assigned to the student, who gives the final evaluation of the internship.
The student has to submit their internship report to their supervisor no later than 5 working days before the defense. The internship report has to be also send to the coordinator of the study programme (branch).
The submission and defense date of the compulsory internship report has to be no later than May 1, if the professional internship is carried out in the spring semester, and no later than December 1, if the professional internship is carried out in the autumn semester.

RECOGNITION OF PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Previously completed target internship or gathered professional work experience (at least 6 months long) can be recognised and credited as compulsory professional internship if it meets the requirements for compulsory professional internship (see VU FEBA Professional internship regulations).
- If a student wishes that their professional experience would be recognised, they have to submit a request on VU IS „A request for recognition of subjects (modules) / competences“. If compulsory professional internship is planned in the Spring semester, such request has to be submitted till the 1st of December and if the compulsory professional internship is planned in the Autumn semester, such request has to be submitted till the 1st of May.
THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS HAVE TO BE SUBMITTED TOGETHER WITH THE REQUEST:
- Professional experience report, prepared according to the recommended structure for the professional experience report;
- Additional documents proving professional experience (such as employment contract, target internship agreement, etc.);
- Submitted request and documents shall be assessed by the student‘s internship supervisor (the same as the Bachelor thesis supervisor), who shall propose their evaluation to the student's study programme committee.
- The recognition of a student's professional experience is decided by the SPC of a specific study programme on the basis of the supervisor‘s recommendation and the Description of the Procedure for Recognition of Competencies Acquired by VU students through Non-formal and Informal Education and Crediting of Study Subjects (Modules).
- The decision about the recognition of professional experience is made no later than on the 23rd of December, if the internship is conducted in the spring semester, and no later than on the 1st of June, if the internship is envisaged in the autumn semester.
The student is informed about the decision by their study programme coordinator via VU e-mail.
