Finally, the renovated second floor of the faculty opened its doors and one of the first events in it - VU FEBA Hackathon took place on May 12-13.

At the event, six teams of various compositions competed against each other and solved the problems suggested by the community. Solutions were sought in the following areas: Development and dissemination of a new motivational system that meets the needs of employees, raising teaching excellence, inefficient communication in the community, segregation of staff in the faculty, and the quality of research and research initiatives. The two-day teams discussed and looked for the best solution to the problem, mentors from different fields counseled them and the participants themselves consulted each other, focusing on the ideas for the best solution rad.

During the final of the event, the teams presented the invented solutions to the commission. The commission consisted of VU FEBA dean prof. Dr. Aida Mačerinskienė, Head of VU FEBA Personnel Department Inga Šumskaitė - Dūdė, new dean of VU Law Faculty doc. Dr. Haroldas Šinkūnas and VU ITPC Director - Arūnas Stašionis. After listening to the presentations of all the teams, the committee decided to recognize the winners a team that had improved the development and dissemination of a new motivational system in the community that met the needs of its employees. Team consisted of Erika Breiterytė, Aurimas Milkamanavičius, Dr. Daiva Tamulevičienė and Simona Lesčinskaitė. Participants sought to create an ongoing motivational process and maintain engagement. The hardest working team and the team that prepared the best presentation were also chosen during the event. The team that prepared the best presentation was chosen the VI team, which solved the problem of employee exclusion at the Faculty. Team members: Ieva Gailiūnaitė, Eimintas Steiblys, Dr. Dalius Serafinas, Yulia Teres.

In addition to the ideas generated and the awards given, the biggest achievement of the event is the time spent together, extensive discussions, the opportunity to meet and see each other again. We are very pleased that this initiative has brought together over 50 members of the community who have found the time and dedicated their ideas to creatively address issues that are important to all VU FEBA community. In the presentation of many teams, the expectation for the future was to repeat the hackathon, so we are happy with the results of the VU Tech Hub project not only in the start-up ecosystem, but also in the application of new methods to work within the faculty. It is so fun to work in a renovated room where we hope will born true unicorns! Big thank to everyone who took part and we would like to invite you to look around the second floor!
