The favorite professor of students and colleagues at Vilnius University, Juozas Ruževičius, used to say: "Don't hurry, eternity is ahead of us." However, he himself soared through the VU and international scientific space like a bright comet, encouraging everyone to rise above the everyday, smile, and be interested in the quality of the world around us.
We will accompany Professor Juozas to eternity at the Chapel of Our Lady of Consolation of St. John the Baptist and St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Church this Tuesday (November 14) from 3:00 PM and on Wednesday (November 15) from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The urn will be taken out on November 15 at 12:00 PM and laid to rest in the columbarium of Vilnius Sudervė Cemetery.
To say that Juozas "worked" at VU would be inaccurate – from 1971, he lived in the spirit of the university and shaped it. He led the Committee of the Quality Management Master's Program, was an active researcher, preparing more than 500 scientific articles and 16 textbooks. The professor delivered more than 50 scientific presentations at national and international conferences, including 8 keynote speeches. Juozas Ruževičius had internships and worked as a visiting professor at universities in Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Romania, the United States, and the United Kingdom. He organized and implemented more than 20 management-related projects of the European Union and national science.
Juozas Ruževičius was a member of various national and international organizations: an honorary member of the Lithuanian Quality Management and Innovation Association, a full member of the International Quality Professionals Guild, a member of the Science Council of the European Quality Sciences Academy, Vice President of the International Association of Goods Science IGWT, a member of the executive committee and scientific expert, and others. He also served as the chief editor or editorial board member of several scientific journals.
