On the occasion of the World Intellectual Property Day, the Lithuanian Patent Attorneys' Institute together with the State Patent Office of the Republic of Lithuania announces a student essay competition on intellectual property. The best essay will be awarded with a financial prize of EUR 500, as well as a special prize and the best essays will be published on the PPI Linkedin account (the participant agrees to this condition by participating).

The competition essay must be the size of a Linkedin article, but no more than 2500 words, and can be written in English or Lithuanian.

Possible topics (you can choose a separate sub-topic):

  1. Intellectual property and state secrets;
  2. Intellectual property and artificial intelligence (AI);
  3. Intellectual Property and Sustainability.

Evaluation criteria: understanding of the legal framework, understanding of the issues, writing style suitable for social media, correctness of language. Evaluation panel: Lithuanian Patent Attorneys' Institute Board members and a representative of the State Patent Office of the Republic of Lithuania.

Submissions should be sent by e-mail:  by 17 April. The award will be announced on 26 April.
