We are happy to invite you to the research seminar by Department of Economic Policy. On November 23rd Arūnas Burinskas will present the topic „Regulation of Notary Services and Prospects for Liberalisation in Lithuania“ in TechHub Room 35-30.
Brief overview of the seminar
Notary services are strictly regulated: the state determines the number of notaries and their fees. The seminar will present the regulation of the notary market and analyse the various conditions of notarial activities, their costs, and cost-effectiveness. Since competition in pricing is practically limited when providing notary services, an attempt will be made to analyse whether notary offices compete and, if so, how. The seminar will also discuss the prospects of liberalising notary services and the potential impact on the new market formation.
