Students, what is the most important driver and consequence of the currently high inflation? We invite you to share your views and join the CEFER Challenge!
Inspired by the Federal Reserve Challenge in the US, the CEFER Challenge is an annual thematic team competition for undergraduate and/or master-level students from various academic disciplines. Students must form teams of 3-4 participants to join the event. All team members must be registered at a university during 2022-2023. This year’s theme focuses on the economic and financial implications of high inflation in the euro area. The event encourages students to explore both the drivers and consequences of persistent inflation.
In the 1st round of the competition, teams are required to submit a 3-minute video. For the first 1.5 minutes, students should focus on one aspect of the current high inflation (either drivers or consequences) in the euro area, and explain intuitively to central banks and financial regulators why this aspect is important. Students should use the remaining 1.5 minutes to provide brief evidence to support the argument. Data evidence is preferred; other forms of evidence are acceptable.
The Bank of Lithuania provides monetary rewards for the winning teams (EUR 3000 for the winner and EUR 1500 for the runner-up). Internship possibilities are available at the Bank of Lithuania and Nasdaq.
Important Dates:
Deadline to register via email: 31/03/2023
Deadline for Round 1 video submission: 07/04/2023
