Jau netrukus Lietuvos namų ūkius pasieks išmanieji elektros energijos skaitikliai. Gyventojams, kurie per metus vartoja daugiau nei 1000 kWh elektros energijos, ESO pradės diegti naujuosius skaitiklius dar 2022 m. pirmąjį pusmetį, o pabaigs 2025 metais. Bendra išmaniosios elektros energijos apskaitos infrastruktūros projekto investicijų vertė sieks iki 150 mln. eurų. Bet ar išmanieji skaitikliai ir jų dėka teikiama papildoma informacija apie elektros energijos suvartojimą įgalins Lietuvos gyventojus sutaupyti elektros energijos? Remiantis ESO 2017 metais įgyvendinto pilotinio eksperimento duomenimis, VU Ekonomikos ir verslo administravimo docentai Jūratė Jaraitė-Kažukauskė, Andrius Kažukauskas ir doktorantas Fissha Asmare išspausdino studiją šiuo klausimu prestižiniame ekonomikos srities mokslo žurnale Energy Economics. Ši studija yra viena iš VU mokslininkų projekto veiklų, kuri yra finansuojama Lietuvos mokslo tarybos.
