On June 12, Mantas Bureika successfully defended his dissertation at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Vilnius University. His dissertation, titled “Institutional and Economic Development in a Limited Access Order of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (1245–1795)”, was defended for the degree of Doctor of Economics.

 

Spending time in nature is usually associated with positive effects on human well-being – improved mood, reduced stress, better attention, and a stronger sense of connection with the natural environment. However, a new international study co-authored by researchers affiliated with Vilnius University Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and Mykolas Romeris University reveals a more nuanced side of this relationship: enjoyable nature experiences can, in some situations, compete with people’s willingness to help others or the environment.

On 9–13 March 2026, eight representatives from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) at Vilnius University participated in the international Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) titled “The Future of Work”, held at UC Leuven-Limburg Hogeschool (UCLL), Hasselt, Diepenbeek Campus, Belgium. The programme brought together 59 students and five accompanying lecturers from 11 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, and Poland.
